Will I Ever See Your Face Again? *Action Sequence*
The past few days have tried Arthur severely. Nothing is the same without his Ygraine there. Camelot seems dreary and dull, despite the beautiful weather.
Arthur has done his best not wallow, spending time with his grandchildren has helped. Especially little Custen who at 8 is really progressing with his swordplay. And little Morgan is sweet already, with curly hair just like her grandmother...and aunt.
Arthur saddles up Ni, who rarely gets out these days, being close to 25 now. But he's still a very fine horse.
The King is paying particular attention to where he's going, absorbed in his thoughts and wondering if his little princess really will come home.
An hour passes and it seems not, and the High King turns his horse back to Camelot, where endless meetings and councils await. A lone figure wandering the halls of Camelot.

She's looking in the corridors nearer to the stables, when she almost literally bumps into someone. Someone who isn't Bors. Someone who is her father.
Ygraine backs up a little bit. "Er...hello, Father."
To say it's awkward is to put things lightly.

"Ygraine?" He stares at her in astonishment, wondering if she's real.

And then, in typical Pendragon style, to try to ease the tension, goes with completely avoiding any and all uncomfortable subjects for as long as she can manage it. "I've been looking for Bors everywhere. Have you seen him?"
no subject
He wraps his daughter in a huge hug and tears will start to fall.
"Ygraine! Ygraine, thank God! I thought... I thought..."
no subject
"I'm all right, Father. I promise."
no subject
"Mother and I...we've hardly slept-" or he hasn't at least- "we've been so... Don't ever leave like that again, you can tell us anything, you know that."
no subject
"I'm sorry. I did leave a note." Clearly, this means she should get some bonus points. "And Wren and Bors were there to explain everything."
no subject
"You didn't say why, we couldn't figure it out, and then...you went to HIM -" by which he means Mordred, not Melehan - "I thought...you had left forever."

But he manages a little smile. "So you thought he'd be more difficult. Was he? He did't hurt or threaten you did he?"
Suddenly Arthur's on the alert, if there's a hint of such a thing, the Druid will be finding himself on the pointy end of Excalibur.

Melehan is a fine young man and an exceptional knight.
"I suppose...but...promise you'll be careful. Mordred is just... he's dangerous."

Oh Hell. Arthur winces.
"I'm not actually sure..." he begins slowly...hesitantly. "I...Duran would know."
no subject

"I didn't think...I thought you weren't coming back."
no subject
"I said I would! And Bors and Wren should have said the same."
no subject
"I never even thought you'd leave...not withot telling us why and I just couldn't..."
no subject
"I want Bors back. Now."
no subject
"I'll have a message sent, but it depends really on what he's been assigned to do..." If it's patrolling the northern borders it may not be so easy to extricate Bors.

Arthur isn't exactly intimidated by his daughter, but the look of disappointment on her face cuts him to the bone.
"I'll get him back here for you." he promises, then sighs. "Of course if you hadn't left this wouldn't have happened."

"You never even mentioned this desire to your mother and me! I mean yes, we heard that you and Melehan were close. But there's close and there's running off and completely devesating your parents!"
no subject

"I'm not trying to upset you...but Ygraine...how can you believe that? Do you really think I'm that horrible?"

But when it comes to difficult fathers...well, Arthur's in no position to judge.
"I just wish you had..." he sighs, this is not a competition, the couple had gone to Mordred first and that was that.
Still..."How did he take it then?"
no subject
"Melehan's here, with me. If you'd like to see him."
no subject
He puts an around her shoulders. "Of course I want to see him, I've always liked Melehan, you know that. And I best make sure he'll treat my little princess right."

In the meantime though, Arthur's relieved to have his daughter with him again.
"Let's go meet your husband then..."
no subject
"I'm not actually certain where he is. I can go get him, and bring him to see you shortly?"
no subject
"I'll be in the Study."
Hopefully, when she runs off to get Bors she'll do more than leave a note behind.
